Summary

The Payroll Consultant will provide hands-on support for our members in the private, public, and non-profit sectors and will manage and assist with system implementations and payroll duties.

Department: Outsourced Consulting Services

Location: Fully remote with occasional travel

Type:Part-time intermittent

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director - Consulting Services

Essential Functions

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process that includes importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting all payroll wages and tips, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws for member and non-member organizations.
  • Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy of posting including intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll and benefits and record timely and accurately.
  • Assist with issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors.
  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance departments, etc.
  • Provide Project Management support with organizations switching from one HRIS system to another including data extraction, validation, and test payrolls.
  • Two or more years of experience as a payroll specialist.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a variety of payroll systems.
